The Predictive Validity of the Private Skill Exam Scores on Academic Success in a Physical Education Department

Abstract

Some measurement tools that are used in education have been arranged in order to estimate the expected success of individuals. One of the concrete samples of this kind is the examinations performed to select the students entering the universities. In such exams, one or more tests are applied and the points obtained from these tests are used to indicate canditates’ success in the future. Student selection exams and ability tests are applied to select students for Physical Education and Sports departments of universities two of which are Shuttle run and coordination and skill tests. In this study, the exam grades that the students educated in the department of physical education and sports got in the ability test is studied in relation to their academic success through a stepwise regression method.
