Abstract

In this study an answer was sought to the question of whether the methods of creative drama are effective in teaching science. For this purpose the unit "Body Recognition" was taught in a fifth grade science lesson, using the methods of creative drama and traditional teaching. The results following both methods were compared.
A "pretest-posttest control group model" for experimental methods was applied and t-test used in order to determine if there were any differences between the results of the pretest and posttest applied to exprimental and control groups. As a result, the achievement and creative drama tests were observed to be better in the experimental group than in the control group. No difference was observed between the two groups in the pretest and posttest results for the Science
Attitude Test.
