Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of an active learning approach based on multiple intelligence theory on students' science achivement and science attitudes in first year elementary school pupils. An experimental method was used in this research. The research was carried out on two groups; the experimental group (n=36) and a control group (n=36) The data were obtained by administering the Science Achievement Test, an Attitude Scale, Questionnaires, the Students' Files and Expression with Picture & Writing Test and by using an Observation Record Form. The findings demonstrated that, in regard to the students' science achievement and science attitudes, there were significant differences among the groups in favour of the experimental group.
