Fashion in Visual Culture and Art Education

Abstract

It is well known that education is provided not only in schools but also in society through the continuous transfer of information, individuals receive and education without noticing through visual culture information. Visual culture products involve fewer problems in understanding due to illiteracy and speaking languages differences. One of the results of visual culture is fashion design. Fashion design supplies a commercial demand by varying the trend in materials people use. It was decided to compare the values and aesthetic appreciation transferred through fashion with other visual culture influences in fashion design products in 7.Grade at elementary school level. To implement this project, short term site research was carried out at M.Beğen Elementary School in Konya. The students general knowledge of fashion, and whether the students recognize the influence of fashion on their lives were analyzed.
