An Evaluation of the Teacher-Made Social Studies Course Exam Questions

Abstract

In the study, exam questions prepared by social studies teachers were analyzed in relation to Bloom’s Taxonomy. Document analysis method was used in the study. The study group consisted of social studies teachers working at 10 primary schools in Altındağ, Keçiören and Elmadağ districts of Ankara province. As a result of the study, when the levels of 6th and 7th grade social studies course exam questions were compared according to the previous and the new curriculum, it was found that the questions at knowledge level significantly decreased while the questions at comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation levels significantly increased.
